A Sketch of Deceit

A Sketch of Deceit is a story idea I had in which high school student, Theo, loses himself from reality and lives through his notebook.

Instead of writing math equations or history essays, Theo sketches his mind, and lives to express himself on the page. His need to be perfect is the main reason he loses himself in his sketching, rarely fully rendering with ink and colour. This eventually takes Theo into some dark places he hadn’t known were there, but were always lurking in the background.

I created the concept art on Procreate, and experimented with using different brushes, textures and adjustment tools they provide.
